Thanks guys. Yeah Terry the old Wessex is looking a bit scruffy. Its pretty hard though for these guys as most the collection is outside and with our heat in summer it takes a beating on these old birds. I really need to renew my membership and go down and offer a hand.

Anyway a few more, here we have the Gannet. I really like this aircraft and I am always amazed this thing could even fly, ungainly being the operative word.

Looking back thru these photos, I stopped on the P-40 and had a "recall moment". I have explained before I am 66 and am allowed! In the States I was a ramp tramp, got to know a few warbird owners and got to fly to some of the shows with them. Saw a brown P-40 fly in one of them, commented we don't see too many of them. That got a laugh, and the tail that this guy would fly in with a Huge drop tank attached to the belly, empty, and flew in with minimum fuel. They didn't like seeing this guy, coz the organizers would provide free fuel for them when they landed. Heard one organizer put in enough to get back to whence he came and told him to buggar off. Big smile here remembering those days. cheers, Bill

Cheers guys. Nice story there Bill! 8)

I just went through the entire thread.... great looking models... but, I don't see any weathering !!! They all look
pristine, like they just rolled off the assembly line. The Rufe has some "smoke" marks from the wing guns, but other than
that, nothing. Is this normal ???

Charles

The flash has a tendency to wash out detail, as it was quite dark inside the hangar. In person they were mostly weathered, the 456 RAAF Mossie probably was the most heavily weathered there.

There were a few that could have had more I do agree.

Cheers.
