As suggested in an earlier post on a different thread, Harvard Academician Morison's account and sources have been shown to be wrong again. The writing quality of his popular history of the Two Ocean War and the more official multivolume History of Naval Operations in WWII is excellent but the history is frequently wrong for the obvious reason. His sources were the brass who didn't want to own their own blunders or missteps.
Glad to hear of this correction. I am glad to learn that, in the hopefully final judgement, the eyewitness/participant's account is finally vindicated.
