I wanted to build the Guillow's B17G to RC using 4 .049 Engines. To show how long I have been out of the game, they don't even use the .049's anymore. Can someone tell me, 1. how hard would it be to find 4 almost matching .049s. 2. How hard would it be to find 4 throttle control rings for these engines 3. How accurately could I control the output of 4 .049's would it be within a few RPM few 100's or 1000's RPM?
Before I waste alot of time and money trying to find 4 .049's can someone set me on the right track. Today I went to the hobby shop and found out this little motor the size of a quarter out performs the .049 anyway it was a brushless ??? 250. This is starting to look more practicle but my dream was to hear 4 engines. The plane it too small to use any bigger engines.

Can someone help me
Thanks Jim

If you must use the Gillows kit your better off using the electric motors any way.All the electrical r/c equipment you'll need to get it fling will be lighter and smaller for your task. Also i believe you will only need 2 motors instead of 4. You can allways put on fake props on the outer engines you wont notice it in flight. Here is a few pics of a large scale electric powered r/c B-17.
