1/48 Bf109-F2

Giving the Zvesda BF109F-2 a go. My first BF109 and probably not the best choice. Almost no rivets on the kit which I added from1/48 scale drawings from my Mushroom book on the BF-109. Also, the engine and cowl mounting was a nightmare. Sorry for the late progress shots but I didn't take pictures until then. I am going to redo the camo scheme as I don't think its accurate.

Exhausts and intake from Vector resin.

AK real colors for the RLM70, RLM 71 and RLM76. Mr.Color RLM04 for the yellow.

And the a/c I am trying to do.

Once again relying on dodgy inaccurate profiles can lead to problems. Photo's, below, of Klöpper's actual aircraft indicate very little relation to Kagero's guesswork. Original photos and quality research is priceless. Sorry but if you rely on cheap books.......

Yes, Bf 109 Fs Black 1, Black 3 and Black 5, probably more but the Kagero profile is of Black 12. Also Fw 190A-4's. More images

IMHO the Kagero followed the two pics to create the profile. Both images seem to present the same plane.
Contrary to that , the crashed "12" plane ( the crashed kite "11"not mention ) seems to be a different Fridrich. Unless she was repaired and the external bullet-proof glass was added. Also the Bf 109F would have to be repainted as well.

Aside from the leading edges of the wings on the picture posted which give a definitive view of Black 12, I cannot see any distinctive camo pattern that says it was painted a specific way. To me it looks like a combination of running patches of RLM70 over RLM 71 with some areas having a diagonal pattern like the a/c below.

I think those 2 main sets of Pics are 2 different aircraft, the rear fuselage Gruppe Cross is higher on the fuselage on the 62 victory aircraft, so i don't think '12' is the same aircraft.

I have re-painted the model but haven't had a chance to post pics. My set up for taking pictures is pretty crappy at the moment as I am having my bench area drywalled.
