Kit: Monogram F-102 and Monogram F-106
Scale: 1/48th.
Accessories: Super Scale Decals

I'm going to do a double build, F-102 Delta Dagger and F-102 Delta Dart. I'll be starting off with the F-102 which has been my favorite of the Centurary Series jets since I built the 1/72nd scale Hasegawa kit back when I was in 8th grade. The F-102 was the first production delta winged aircraft and also the first production supersonic fighter.
I will be building it as 56-1447. A "Duce" with Case XX wings that served with the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron based at Keflavik, Iceland in 1963.
Below are several profiles of "447" as well as some photos over its lifetime.

Here's the kit and the decals. Raised panel lines, but other than that it looks real nice. The panel lines are very fine and shouldn't be a big deal with a natural metal finish. My fingers in one of the shots gives you an idea of how large it is.

I'm not getting any younger. Got to finish all the models in the stash before I kick off.
I started cutting plastic tonight. Might even have a picture later.

The only thing to go in the interior before the fuselage halves come together is the jet exhaust can. I also assembled the ejection seat. Its more than detailed enough for a closed canopy which is my intention, Just some careful painting should be enough. Last picture is of the cockpit tub/nose gear well dry fitted. Joining the fuselage halves and painting the cockpit is next.

Tonight I painted the cockpit sidewalls and glued together the fuselage halves. Also painted the wheel wells zinc and did a black wash. It still needs detail painting.

I finished up the cockpit this weekend. Also detail painted the main wheel wells.

The last picture is the joint on the left side of the tail which is the only bad joint on the fuselage. all other areas joined real nice with very minimal cleanup. There was a considerable step and gap here that was filled with CA and filed down.
