Decided on this Uniquely camouflaged Ju88A-4 of 4/KG54, based at Catania, Sicily in the Spring of 1943.
KG54 began experimenting with "wavy Line" camouflage schemes in Italy in early 1943, the reasoning behind this may have been the rising loss rate at the time….the purpose of these irregular lines was to break up the contours of the aircraft while flying over land, water or at low level to make it more difficult to identify by allied aircraft, ships or anti-aircraft positions.
