1/48 P-47D Razorback Tamiya (chain manufacturing)

Something more strange on the Christensen's mount => a P-47D-10-RE with all rectangular flaps, the last two should be reduced from the D-6 series...

From research in building a Tamiya P-47D razorback as a 348FG in New Guinea I have seen tail coded planes up to D-11 with the FULL width cowl flaps. My research of P-47 photos by tail codes show D-15 is when the staggered cowl flaps appear. The question if the change is related to RE and RA build planes. I always put my faith in WW2 era photographs than artist interpretations in popular books!
