Very cool. I wonder if I could jury-rig it to the dash of my Taurus

Just released by "Ammo by MiG", some interesting items that could provide ideal background displays for models.
A series of aircraft instrument panels, in 1/2 scale, which so far include Spitfire Mk.Vb ( shown below), Bf109, Me 262, and FW 190.
Prices range from around £30 to £34 in the UK.

those are very interesting !

Atlantis has announced they will be releasing their reissue of the Lindberg 1/48 Jenny at the end of March.

[at6]

I have the Lindberg kits. All I want are the decals and painting instructions.

[MIflyer]

What color is "Buff" anyway?

Not the same color as a B-52....

I think it was FSM that had an article on taking two of the Lindberg kits and building a Jenny Twin.

I think Buff is supposed to be some sort of Tan. I've seen that mentioned with some other model kit a long time ago.

I think "Buff" means the natural color of the fabric, which is a very light tan. Years ago a guy who had built a replica Gee-Bee Z described the problem they had in figuring out what color to paint the inside of the cockpit, the walls of which were unpainted fabric. Then an idea hit them: "We'll use unpainted fabric!"

I'd have used canvas, available at an art store, just to make it more durable.

Now, in modern times we do not use unpainted fabric because we need to protect the fabric from the Sun with a coating of aluminum powder. In WWI they seem to have not been worried too much about that because the airplanes were not meant to last very long anyway and the chances of them being damaged and require replacement of the fabric anyway was very high.

By the way, there's a book I have about WWI aviation, "The Canvas Falcons." Absurd name! They did not use canvas! Too heavy and would not conform as well; the material they used was more like a bedsheet.

By the way, the guys who built the Gee Bee Z followed the design too closely. They put an air vent in the middle of the instrument panel, looking like an old fashioned radio speaker. After the first flight the pilot said he felt a bit woozy. The "fresh air intake" was located right behind an exhaust stack! Asking the pilots who flew the originals if they ever felt woozy they replied, "Yes." They moved the fresh air intake to a less authentic location.

Tamiya does a "Buff" similar to the profile

Buff? That bottle is downright ripped!!

Thank you, thank you! I'll be here all week! Tip your waiters and waitresses and try the veal!

Squadron Shop has announced they have two new interesting 1/48 releases in stock. Of course, you know where they are made.

Buccaneer test frame exclusive and Italian aviation style

[Capt. Vick]

I thought this kit would allow you to finally build the one that actually flew, but I was wrong. The V2 had JUMO 004 engines.

[MIflyer]

I have the Pm Model nightfighter 1/72 Horton.
