How about something that can bring in a diverse range of fighter craft. this idea was done about 2 years ago and I was hoping people would be ready again.

I was tooling around making a list of aces and thought of getting a collection going of the aircraft of the top aces from WWII. I made a list of people that had the highest scores grouped by their nationality and service (army/navy).

Here's that list with a general aircraft associated with the pilot. It's listed in order by score and lists the pilot's name, native country, score, aircraft associated with. It's not complete in the marks of the aircraft they flew and I know the actual score counts are debatable but this is what I'm going with.

Erich Hartmann Germany Luftwaffe 352 BF-109s

Ilmari Juutilainen Finland Finnish Air Force 94 Brewster Buffalo

Tetsuzo Iwamoto Japan Imperial Japanese Navy 80 A6M2b

Satoru Anabuki Japan Imperial Japanese Army 51 ki-43

Mato Dukovac Croatia Croatian Air Force 44 BF-109G

Marmaduke 'Pat' Pattle South Africa Royal Air Force 40 Hurricane

Richard I. Bong United States U.S. Army Air Forces 40 P-38

George F. "Buzz" Beurling Canada Royal Air Force 31⅓ Spitfires

Dezső Szentgyörgyi Hungary Royal Hungarian Air Force 30½ BF-109G

Clive Caldwell Australia Royal Australian Air Force 28½ P-40B

Gregory "Pappy" Boyington United States U.S. Marine Corps 28 F4U

Colin Falkland Gray New Zealand Royal Air Force 27½ Spitfires

Teresio Vittorio Martinoli Italy Regia Aeronautica 22 C.202 'Folgore'

Any interests in this as a group build?

AFAIK, more than half of Juutilainen's claims are scored by Bf109...

The possibility of splitting one of the remaining GB's and including an Aces theme was discussed here. There was not much feedback. You can always start an unofficial GB and see how many join in.
