Today, a Czechoslovakian WWII anti-Nazi hero, member of the Western Czechoslovak Army in Grerat Britian, Generalmajor Rudolf Pernický, has passed away. He was 90 years old.

July 1, 1915 - December 21, 2005

A participant in the second foreign resistance in France and England. He was an instructor for the airlifting of paratroopers to the Czech Lands at the Defence Ministry in exile in London since the end of 1940.
In December 1944, he commanded a paratrooper squad that was actively engaged in domestic resistance movement against the Nazi regime.
In 1948 he was sentenced to 20 years in a show trial. He spent 11 years in uranium mines.
After 1989, he was rehabilitated and promoted first to the rank of colonel and later to major general in reserve.
On October 28, the Czechoslovak National Day, he was ordered by the highest Czech award, the Order of White Lion.
