I mostly watch them on Satellite channels or YT. Very few, I download, most of them heavily censored.

Japanese TV imported many US movies, dramas and animes when I was a kid but I find fewer than before recently.
This is not ban but people's favor. Any country does not have to worry about foreign culture as people will decide IMO.

Japan has sent us some wonderful cartoons. Eitoman (Tobor the 8th Man), Tetsujin Nijuhachi-go (Gigantor), Mach GoGoGo (Speed Racer) are just a few I liked. Let's not forget The Amazing Three, perhaps the stupidest cartoon ever animated. I loved it's theme song, Spacemen with a Mission.

Japan also gave us Godzilla, Mothra, Rod-an and others I can't remember.
