Time to start doing some of the decals. Many of the parts on this kit need to be decaled before fitting and most of them are quite complex and needing to go round some very tight corners.
The rear wheel fitted with decals to represent carbon fiber.
One of the very small components made up of two parts requiring 6 carbon fiber decals.
The bikes main frame (one side) with 11 carbon fiber decals.
The two part rear wheel with decal placement and fitment.
Two phrases come to mind after a day just fiddling with on half wheel, "a pack of poo tickets" and "a fit like a pig's ear". I can honestly say my patience has been truly tested today and I still have 21 more spokes to decal.............................

Not a lot to report, still working hard on the decals, all carbon fiber decals.
I have to say that the moulding of this kit are quite amazing. I'm showing the two apposing parts of the mainframe, both are single moulded parts with hardly an ejection mark showing anywhere and both are very crisp and clean parts. In these two pics, you have the before and after application of the carbon fiber decals. In all there were 24 decals applied to these and its taken a lot of softening agent to get them to fit in all the pits, bumps and bends.
Please forgive the differing quality pictures folk, the top one was using natural light, the bottom artificial light as it was hard trying to get the carbon fiber to show in natural light.
As a foot note: Meng also have the same model and scale kit out as a pre-painted snap lock kit and in this they have managed to duplicate the carbon fiber look directly onto the plastic.

Actually made a start on the kit build today. Earlier in the piece I assembled the engine block for ease of spraying (I forgot to make a pictorial record), my apologies.
So here is the engine block from two angles along with the what looks to be the sump.
Next the engine block with the remaining additions and air cleaning assembly.
The completed engine block in all its glory. All the parts were snap lock with only one of the pipes not sitting well, so that helped along with a touch of glue.
I did manage to progress further but more on that tomorrow.

Same here Andy, have always been a 4 wheeler man, never liked the thought of that cold wing round my ears.
Onward we go and if this thing goes together much easier, it will be finished in the blink of an eye. So I've slowed the pace somewhat.
