Well guys and gals, we a have major catastrophe to fix. This is a 1969 Dodge Daytona. And yes, we have most of the original sheet metal. Though it's not worth a plug nickel. The car belongs to one of our very good customers. Auto Metal Direct is supplying all of the sheet metal and hanging it. This is to advertise there expertise in the muscle sheet metal industry and is being televised by Chop, Cut, Rebuild. Fortunately for us, we are not going to be on television. Sigh of relief. Anyway, the car was involved in a high speed police chase in Alabama in the mid seventies, and was abruptly wrapped around a very solid stationary object, tree, telephone pole, concrete culvert, not sure really but it did not move, the car...................on the other hand, did. Ironically, the gentleman that was running from the officers, is now employed by them. Things may change as to how much A.B.M. Restorations is involved in this project, so far, we are doing the all the bodywork, priming, and paint. But even that may change, as A.M.D. and Chop, Cut, Rebuild do not always see eye to eye. So.....................without further ado, here's what we have to start with.

If it stays with us, I will keep it updated. I have been dealing with a bad back for the past two weeks. I went out on the Creeper Trail Sunday and got some excersize and photos. It was 92 degrees F and the humidity was about 90%.

Here's a update on the Daytona, for what it's worth. Had to do some modifications to the hood, even though they are 70' Charger pieces, there are some differences. The deck lid rear lip is in need of some repair and is going to the sandblaster before we go any further with it. The quarter is the original along with the 999 green reflector bezel that is in it. These cars went from the factory to Creative Industries without a front bumper and a few other pieces. They were disassembled and pieces that got covered in decals or black interior pieces usually did not see the same car again. Most black interior Daytonas do not have the correct build sheet for this very reason.
