Desk lamp with magnifying glass....what to get?

In my castle....

Need to get something to improve on the lighting, thinking of those desk mounted lights with magnifying glasses, think that I've seen them with either, 5x, 8x and 20x glass on ebay....
Question is, which one is better?
Haven't looked at any of those with daylight....bulbs, but I imagine that they're multi £££!

I've been using one that Maria (Biker Babe) sent me a couple or more years ago, which was from Aldi. Good magnification, and a standard bulb. Works very well, although takes a bit of getting used to, getting the distance and angle to suit. Don't know if they still do it, but worth looking for.

I use a lamp called a Duratech laboratory desk lamp. its main difference is that it uses LEDs which are bright. Has three joints and a swivel. You clamp it to the bench has a total reach of 840mm. Frame is steel and plastic.

ive only had it 4 months. It replaced a fluorescent tube type that lasted about 9 years, but finally the electronics gave up the ghost in that one. So far the new one is good, but it cost a bit, at $100 AU, which is about 45 pounds of your funny money

I use one that I bought from Harbor freight years ago. It wasn't that expensive and does what I need it to. They are hard to get used to though. My main go to is still head mounted magnifiers and the lamp from the lighted magnifier but still use the large magnifier sometimes.

I've bought a pair of magnifying visors and really like that I'm not constrained to work under a fixed lens. It moves with my head so it gives me more flexibility.

I use both, the lamp/magnifier is mostly for lighting. Mine is on its way out, the table top attachment is very loose after years of use. When it finally lets go and knocks me unconscious I'll look at getting a couple of LED desktop lamps and just use the visor.
