Yes Aron I have read they are near the same kit save for the wings. Do you have the Squadron Allison Engines Mustangs Walk around? It is a good place to start.

No sir, I have a small book called D&S Volume 50 Prototype through P-51C. Very detailed and full of photos. Written by Bert Kinzey. It is a Squadron/Signal Publications book. I am trying to find the other volumes in the Mustang series but have had no luck so far.

I am not of bourbon or whisky, my blood runs through the veins corsair, I goes distillates Caribbean rum and sugar cane for liquors, but it looks pretty good color to that bottle.
