Thanks Bill but I'm pretty sure that this section was straight before I glued it. The upper wing section seemed to have a bit of a twist so I had to apply a fairly robust clamp to help keep things straight and to set the glue. I'm thinking that the glue fumes on the inside combined with the clamping force softened the plastic and created the pocket.

Looks like you're getting there Andy. Watch out for shrinkage though. Years ago I was building the old Testors Banshee and I had to do some massive pudding like that. I think I used Squadron gray putty. Anyway I let it dry a few days than filed and sanded it pretty good then painted it. got back to it a few weeks later and it had shrunk and there was a big dip there. I was so p!ssed I threw it in the spares box where it still is. One of the reasons I pretty much use inly CA for filling now.

Thanks for the heads up Glen. I don't know what the alternative would be as there's far too much of a hole here to fill with CA. I see it'll probably be a couple of weeks yet before the finish paint goes on and Calgary is pretty dry so any shrinkage should show up in time.

This weekend looks like a washout weather-wise so may get a bunch done. Might head to Nanton Saturday to work on our mossie. I owe you guys some pics of what we've been up to and need to sort through my files. Stay tuned.

Coming back together nicely Andy. After my Squadron Putty had hardened in the tube with more than half a tube left and the Canadian dollar was in the tank, I bought a tube of Bondo Spot Putty. Several years later, I haven't noticed any shrinkage. If there is a down-side, it has to be applied in thin layers or it takes forever to set up. It works well with your preferred non-sanding method and despite being a dark red, paint covers it well.

Thanks Geo. Still using the Squadron stuff as I've never had a problem with it yet. Besides, I've had this tube of over ten years and it's not even half way through yet.

The third coat of primer has gone on after sanding a few spots and I'm still going to need another shot. Again, no pics as it's hard to see anything but it is coming together slowly.

In the meantime, I've finished off the rocket packs:
