Thanks gents.
I installed the IP today after having cut out and placed the individual dial decals and dabbed them with Future. This close up reveals that the second instrument from the right shifted a bit when the setting solution was put on but I didn't see this before now.
Having now bent the wire harnesses, I installed the mounting frame and inserted the wire bundles into the holes I drilled in the cockpit wall:
I've now decided on a tack for the canopy. The Hasegawa canopy incorporates part of the side walls of the cockpit and will, I think, make for easier seam management at the fuselage joint than the vac formed units that Terry sent me. Hasegawa's clear dome on the front comes as one solid piece, albeit with a very noticeable seam down the center (see pic below), whereas the vac-formed one comes in two parts, making for a tricky, and likely messy, glue job. However, I think that the vac-formed piece will come in handy for the upper section of the canopy where I'll have the hatch open and the thinner plastic on these parts will look more realistic here.
This afternoon, I got rid of the seam by sanding with 800, 1200, and 2000 grit paper with a final polish using toothpaste, The dome was then dipped in Future and has bee set aside to dry. I'll post some shots in a couple of days when it's dry.
Thanks for looking in and for the kind comments.
