Progress is being made at a slower than hoped for pace as life gets in the way sometimes.

The fuselage halves have been joined together as have the top and bottom wing sections. Test colours appear in photo of wing top and the mated fuselage/wing photo is dry fit only. Hope to make more progress this weekend.

Major components went together this morning. No fit issues to speak of and things will now end for the day as I have to get ready to head out to my brother-in-law's 50th birthday party.

More progress to report. Started off giving the whole thing a spray of light blue followed by a first coat of desert yellow / red brown mix. I will be putting a second coat later. Olive green mottle to follow.

Looking good although these green spots seem to be a little bit too light.
 
Here you are a couple of well-known pictures of JG27 kites in the North Africa, both colour and B&W ones. Please notice how well the green camo spots pretend the shadow of desert stones and small bushes seen on the ground.
