Cool subject. I did Coffey's Pot after reading "Hell Hawks" by Robert Dorr. I used the Tamiya kit but not up to you level by any means.

Thanks for checking in on the build.

I finished off the cockpit by adding some led wire to the backside of the instrument panel then mounted the pit to the starboard fuselage half. Here are some shots of it with both halves of the fuselage dry-fitted which I must say fit surprisingly well for such an old kit. For the wiring I used a reference picture of an un-restored P47D. This particular P47 is/was apparently rare because as I seem to recall a lot of these P-47's went to the U.S Air National Guard after the war who then painted the cockpits black. This one was destined for the ANG but it didn't get a cockpit re-paint so it was left in its original WWII colours. I posted a pic below. One thing I noticed is the area behind the instrument panel. It's not painted Dark Dull green but an interior green or maybe zinc Chromate Green? Funny how you can see new things when you look at a photo a few times. There looks like a what might be a glide slope indicator/reference panel? in the upper left of the IP that may not be original but not sure.

Thanks very much.Nice pictures there especially of the landing gear. This particular aircraft looks like it has the late P/W R-2800 Double Wasp Engine. My particular aircraft being a -25 Block had the P/W R-2800-59 series engine which had the more cone shaped governor and turtle back Magnetos. Unfortunately, the kit doesn't come with the aforementioned magnetos. Vector makes a nice resin engine set that would be perfect but the price is astronomical so I will try and scratch the magnetos.
