Picture 1) Finished up most of the remaining small bits with some minor modifications. The tires were not molded great and had no tread so after extensive clean up with a file I added checkered tread with a hobby knife. Also the prop spinner did not have the hole in the tip so I drilled it out. and also addsd some rivet detail at the joint.
Picture 2) The landing gear glued on. I think this is the weak point of the kit. There's no positive socket for then, just a very shallow hole and they can be glued on at just about any angle. It took me over 30 minutes of fiddling with them before I could get then to stay where I wanted them.

The gear on the "H" model was quite a bit smaller. The whole idea behind the P-51H was a 'light weight Mustang" and the smaller gear was one of the weight savings.
