As with many young boy of my era, the Flying Tigers (American Volunteer Group (AVG)) and Brigadier General Robert L. Scott, of "God is My Copilot" fame were idles. Though they are different entities and different times, they are the same but follow ons.

I had the honor to meet and talk with Gen. Scott while stationed at Robins AFB GA. Our IPMS group was named aft him and was part of the mix that brought him back to his roots of Middle Georgia after his wife passed and he was lagusing in Sunny Valley AZ.

The AM Tech kit looks pretty good, though I'm not real why clear it presents two sets of the fuselage. Kit consist of 5 sprues molded in a very light grey and a single clear sprue and an eight page instruction sheet. I picked up two of these a few years back at hobby shops and they both have the duel fuselage trees.

I picked up the Sky Models decals for there in depth coverage of the AVG and follow on USAAF groups.

I don't have much in the goodies bag for this build. Just the basic kit and a small Eduard set. Here are some shots from Detail & Scales Vol 62 P-40 Warhawk on the cockpit.

I honestly miss the old Eduard sets, bare metal, no self stick, glue and paint it yourself. The old sets just seemed more all encompassing in general.

I hear you Andy and I'm not going to do any P.E. until I pick up one or two of these thangs...

They are wax pencils and dirt cheap on eBay. You city folk should have no problem finding them in your big fancy Gothams
