You have an unbeatable arsenal of accessories to develop a very interesting project, Don.
As Stephen says, that is a delicate surgery, and the patient thanks you. Very good work so far.

On the other hand, I think you're becoming a kind of hero ... ... I complain about doing 2 models simultaneously and how my workbench is disorganized! ... You have 2 monsters in the final stage, I think I saw a Mustang out there , and you have two new projects for this GB, you found the painting and your airbrush !!

Yes, I definitely ran out of excuses ...

I'm in a holding pattern for this build as I am really tied up with GB 40. But I did get the old Monogram SB2C as it has the parts necessary to convert the Pro Modeler into an SB2C-4E. The 4E and the 5 used the APY-4 radar and the old "toy like kit" just happens to be a 5 and Monogram got that correct, except they gave you two of the wing mounted radar pods. You only need one.
Bert Kinzey in the SB2C In detail and scale covers both models and this is his recommendation for the conversion.

I can't wait till the 40 GB is completed and I can get started on this baby, the P-40 is near completion already so I can concentrate on this one alone. I picked up the Eduard bomb bay set as well.

OK so the P-40 is in the garage getting a flat coat so the SB2C comes out on the table.
I started working the inner wings with the fold interior. It really goes in very well but I had to clamp it after running proweld in the upper and lower seams.

I then got started with the Eduard pre painted interior set.

Next came the conversion to the SB2C-4E by modifying the aft avionics set. I paid $35 US for the old Monogram SB2C kit just for this part, the avionics upper bay and the radar pod. I started by removing the upper row of black boxes from the Pro Modeler kit and then using a razor saw I cut the Monogram upper set out. I then used a PE saw to divide the three boxes from the Monogram set and filed them as needed to fit the contour of what was needed. They are actually a little small from my guess but close enough. Here are pictures from Bert Kinzey's SB2C in Detail and Scale. These are from a -5 but these are the same for all the -XE types. This aircraft is at Pensacola.

You do know there is a month overlap of GB's?
Next GB starts a month before the current one ends, ay......
