i will need to rearrange a few built models to merge the small gaps on my shelf units to create one large gap

Going to try masking and painting the RLM70 on one of the wings today, then if it goes well I'll see how much more i can get done !

As you're brush painting, the masking should work reasonably well, even if the tape doesn't press down into the corrugations. Any seepage can easily be retouched. I sort of remember doing it on a 1/72nd Ju-52, although quite some time ago, when Moses was still just a Corporal !

Seems to have worked, pushed the tape into grooves, painted base colour RLM 71 onto edges of tape, when dry painted on next coat of RLM 70.

pretty happy with result

will crack on with masking the rest tomorrow !

Yep, turned out well. Sealing the edges of the tape with the base colour nearly always works without problems.

That is one big bird Karl. I made it a while back and 1/72 scale and had trouble finding space on the shelf for it.
Looks like the masking turned out real nice.
