Good evening, all. I did order and received the Aries cockpit resin set. As always, things looked very nice. After studying this thing, I am going to build up the set and see how big of a pain it will be to get integrated into the kit. So, fingers crossed, I am off to resin land. Pictures to come very soon.

I just realized I need to do some "catch up" posting. Picture 1 is the aftermarket stuff I ordered, minus the 50mm barrel. It is in flight right now. Picture 2 is the forward cockpit with some details painted in. Picture 3 is the rear bulkhead ready to be installed. So far cockpit is nice. Very nice. I am going to work the cockpit up and then see how aggravating it will be to get integrated into the kit. As long as that is not a HUGE pain, I will stick with the resin. I hope to be able to start trial fitting early next week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hey, Geo, yeah, I have had more than a few challenges with resin, but my eyeballs are telling me it should not be a huge pain to get in. I will keep you all posted on this.

Hey, everyone,
Ok, I have been really and I mean really taking my time on the resin cockpit. At this point I guess I am committed to using the resin set. I have not tried any test fitting just yet. My plan is to get the separate front and rear area completed then start the test fitting. Slow and easy is my mantra now. I have about 80% of the forward seating area done. Down to a few PE levers (fun, fun), rudder pedals, and control column. Once this forward area is done, it is on to rear seating area (gunner's). This resin thing is almost a kit in itself. I added a few instrument dials to the side consoles (VERY hard to see in the pics) and did a ton of highlighting with a mix of paints, colored pencils, and some wash. Overall, I am happy with my work so far. Finally bought some GOOD detailing brushes and that is making a big difference in what I can paint now.
Once again, thanks for stopping in.

Looks great Dale. You did a great job painting those moulded seat belts. The really stand out.

Those are actually PE, Andy. I finally figured out to get them to stay down! I attach the appropriate end and then gently lift the remaining belt and use a fine tip needle to brush super glue on the underside of the belt and press it down with a tooth pick.
