Arrive today

Started by trying to match grey color to what I have. Vallejo Barely grey looks to be the coloset match.

Shot Vallejo flat black primer on and put together the nose gear well.

and while that is all going on the engine section (aft).

Had to do some seam line work and so I used a narrow tongue depressor to swab some Mr. Surfacer 500 down the lines each side. Fun is in sanding it out.

Not attached. little clean up work to do. Primer and then metallic paints.

Got most of the interior done today. Jet exhaust and cockpit. To sand down the mr sufacer I tried using Flex I file sanding system locked inside the AB section to some, but little success.

Getting about ready to close her up. Adding weight in every nook and cranny I can find. I'm sure it's going to be too much.
The side consoles are hollow so I used a bit of SG gel to close up one end and added bird shot in to each side.

It fit about 18 to 20 pellet's each side. Then the side walls from the nose gear!

and the nose cone!

Got a GAP on the bottom forward fuselage I'm fighting. Trying to find the cause and not getting anywhere. I trimmed the cockpit floor and cleaned out some weight around the nose gear. though I had it and again, well.....

Pay attention, The GAP, THE GAP, forget the work bench!!!!!

Run some black paint on the innards of one fuselage half with a brush. While still wet, close the halves together, open, and the interference area should be transferred in black on the other side
Wish I'd have thought of that before. Anywho, i got the section aft of the nose well closed. Forward I can patch if I don't tear it apart and do the wet paint thing. Great input I've used before but forgot about today

Ok so the nose cone didn't look straight so I cut out the very front and the nose cone. I then filled around the mount lip of the nose cone and had to fuss with it but I got rid of the gap that was going to cause the nose ring to not fit. So it seems all is right with the world.

To be honest the nose looked good. You could use some of a putty for the front ring to level the difference at the join. The cone seems to be fine as it seems the Eduard replicated it as the maximal moved forward one.
Also you could have used the set ...

Thanks but to get it all to fit correctly it was IMHO quite necessary to get thr fuselage to fit correctly. I filed around the matting point until it allowed me to close trying not to let the cone go back. I think I got it right. It was offset to the left originally and was driving me crazy in the first place anyway. Nice set, never knew it existed till now.
