Waiting for wing touch-ups to dry so moved on to other work that can be done while looking for cockpit info. Surgery needs to be done if the wings are in the folded position. Prepped for cutting on the left

Cockpit shots are hard to find for the -1A. Out of six books so far I have found two photos that barely show the area behind a pilot and it looks like interior green to me so I'm thinking rear bulkhead, fuselage sides above the consoles and possibly the seat done in interior green and the rest of the interior in YZC......so far

Wing fold area started in YZC and was over sprayed during final paint. (Could be light, medium or dark blue dependent on time frame.) Photo #1740 is right wing gun bay with wing folded up vertical, lower left corner is wing fold area with flap push rod.

Photo #1745 looking into center section from wheel well with access cloth cover open. Wheel well looking forward over sprayed as well.

Thanks guys. I was quietly high-5ing myself after I installed the last cross member when I just noticed these....

IMG_0001.JPG

Of course these will need to be removed. The arrow is pointing to a cross member going over the bomb aiming window. I've read that by the time of, or shortly after the -1A entered production, these were either painted over or covered with sheet metal

Thank you. Sprayed the innards with Mr. Hobby Aqueous 58 Interior Green. I've said it before, this paint has to be the nicest spraying paint I have ever used. As my bottle was almost empty I mixed it 1:1 with Tamiya acrylic thinner and sprayed at about 18psi....flawless. As I am about out of this colour I thought I would check a new Canadian source I found; they have 10$ flat rate shipping. Unfortunately, what I saw stunned me. Apparently Mr Hobby changed formula and this was confirmed on Britmodeller.com Pic liberated from that site

Ooouuuch! My head is starting to hurt, so much detail/information!! As I had hinted in Bill's post I am(was) thinking of jumping in with a -1D. Although at 1:72, so not as detailed and demanding. SO much pressure. Maybe I'll just do another 109 (I have plenty)? But I will be watching and taking notes from the detail master(s).

Following on from my build and the chromate colour, I'm plumbing for the Vallego 71.094 to do the job when I get it. May thin it down a little though as it seems quite a strong green, we will see. :D
