Ah, yes... the old Coral Maru!
But no discussion of the Skyraider is complete without the stories of "we threw everything at them - including the kitchen sink!" and the ordnance code-named "sani-flush"!

Yes... dropped in August 1952 on Pyongyang North Korea.

When I was going through AW "A" school back in the winter of 1975 during the EW phase of training we got a number of slide-tape presentations (remember those?) with audio of Radio and RADAR audio. It always amazed me how calm and professional these guys always sounded despite having AAA and SAM RADARs locked on them and seeing missiles coming up at them. Me, I don't think I'd have sounded as calm as these guys.

Definitely a must have book, plenty of excellent photos, many in colour
On the Intrepid in NYC they have an early A-1 labeled Dauntless II. I guess that was before they settled on Skyraider.

-I saw this photo as a SPAD version of an F-82...
-Think about it: room for a "downstairs" galley, head, bunks and other essentials.
