BAUR, Johann ("Hans") Peter. (DOB: 24.04.97 in Ampfing). WWI served in the Luftstreitkräfte. 1921 became
a pilot for Luftlloyd. 1923 became a pilot for Junkers Luftverkehr. 1926 became pilot for DLH. 1926 joined
the NSDAP (Nr. 48,113). 1932 became a pilot for Hitler. 02.33 became Hitler's chief pilot. 1934 promo to
Standartenführer of the SS (Nr. 171,865) and appt Führer of the Regierungsstaffel (later the Fliegerstaffel des
Führers). 31.01.44 promo to SS-Brigadeführer. 24.02.45 promo to SS-Gruppenführer. 04.45 stayed with
Hitler in the bunker until the end. 30.04.45 was shot in the legs during an attempt to escape Berlin resulting in
his right lower leg being amputated 10.06.45 in Posen. 05.45 became POW of the Soviets. 10.10.55 released
by the Soviets but then held by the French. 1957 released. †17.02.93 in Herrsching. Credited with 6
victories (WWI). Author of: Hitler at My Side (published under various titles). Buried at the Westfriedhof in
