Great shots. That looks like a sailor working on a" D" in photo #25. I didn't think the Navy had any D's.

Great shots! There's one shot that has "The Huff" in formation. Almost laughable is the shot where masking tape is covering up some of the instruments.
I'm thinking that either those instruments are marked becuase of a cosmetic flaw or someone didn't want them in the photoWhats the point of the tape on the instruments. It seems like they are not covering up much. Maybe a stupid question, but I was just curious.
Those are all F-86As with USAF Tail Numbers.Looks like the first few photos are F-86s being refurbished or upgraded - maybe for foreign sale.
They usually polish the aircraft at final assembly, right before they are rolled out the door.It is interesting too to notice the finishes on the A/C. Did they polish the planes after final assembly and for delivery?
Also, I believe that tape on the instruments is a warning that that particular instrument is malfunctioning and needs repair.
