Actually in the end it didnt need a lot of work for some reason the task seemed larger a few months ago.

Too true, I have the same issues. But once you sit down and work on it things seem to speed up and become a lot easier.. you sort of get lost in the work and its really not that bad!
 
Thanks guys I'm pretty pleased with it. My best luftwaffe model so far. (so you don't want to see the others!! )

Most likely will tweak the base, looks a little too neat. Needs some more work until I'm happy, probably my model railway days bleeding through a bit here.
