This model depicts Bf109K-4 "Weisse 16" of 9/JG53. The only known pics of this aircraft were taken at war's end when it was found, without wings, parked in trees at the side of a road in southern Germany (Reichenback or Lechfeld area). The wing camo scheme is therefore speculative. Wing and fuselage Insignia and aircraft ID markings were masked and painted. The swastika and stencils are decals from the kit or from spares. The ETC rack is a Zvezda spare and the drop tank came from an unknown kit. It's the first time I tried riveting the visible surfaces and I think it went reasonably well.
