Due to the fact that I can't find any photos or good reference on this aircraft, I intend to change it to P-47D-26RA 42 29002 which was named Ponnie of the 57th FG 64 FS. I wanted to do Oxcart as it was a 65th bird as is Hun Hunter but Eduard release decals for it in their "Jugs over Italy" release and they differ greatly from what I have in the Aeromaster set. I trust Eduard far more than I do Aeromaster and I can't find anything at all on the aircraft save what decal makers want me to see.

Ponnie is from the same group and assigned to the same field so she'll have to do. I have marking for Deacon Daddy from the 79th FG and for Grumpy from the 86th FG, bouth which look cool but I wanted to stick with two birds from the same group, preferable same squadron.

Well now, another stink in the tray. Right tail number and aircraft, but the names have been changed yet again and I don't think it is too protect the inacent! I'll keep going with Ponnie as at least I can say I've seen it.

Thanks, but I don't have the decals That will make that happen. Mine are the Aero Master and have Oxcart on both sides.

So now that a decision has been made, Let the surgery begin!

Oxcart/Blanche III is a P-47D-27-RE, built in Farmingdale NY. Ponnie is a P-47D-26-RA,build in Evansville IN and has the vertical fillet added for stabilization. This is where the Tamiya P-47M kit comes in to play. Their M version carries the extra trees to all most all vertical fillets used on the bubble top Thunderbolts.

Looking good. But some more of fitting is still needed.
