Plugging!
So this a.m. I am at the bench, for a little bit, still sluggish.
I taped all around the PVC insert, about 1.5mm gap to file the edges down to Kit level.
This protects detail in the surrounding area. Thickness of the tap is hardly noticeable.
Filing will tatter the tap anyway and will be closer when finished.
I show the two files I use, because no 2 are alike. The blue covered flat is a Tamiya file
from the three file set. It is rather smooth, doesn't take much off. The red one is from
yet Another set and is a bit more aggressive and I use it a lot. Never hurts to have both.
Gonna go rest up a bit..........

Manufacturer: Airfix kit #A05138
Model Type: P-51D Mustang
Aftermarket; Quickboost, Wheel doors, Exhausts, prop blades.

This is the Other Mustang I did some lettering on, changes and additions.
First photo I took when I was doing the brushwork. This was at Mike Bogues hangar at the Old Oakland Airport.
Mike had a Round engine rebuild shop in this hangar. He also owned a B-23 the Gen. Hap Arnold used as a staff plane.
I had been doing some signage at the air museum down the road and had already done Merlin's Magic.
Second photo, taken by the photographer noted on the pic as it was finished, and at Reno.
Third is the profile I have to match, not going to be easy. Fourth is a second Merlin for this plane as a back-up.
GB-64 starts!!!!!!!!! Added box photo.
