I think I've sorted the spiral out here's the finished result with a bit more weathering added. I have made a start on the exhaust stacks, I attempted to drill them out with not very much success. So I have opted to using the foil off a wine bottle to create my own. Initially I cut the stacks shorter. Then I cut the foil to the original hight so when wrapped around gives you the hollowed out effect. Each foil has been glued in position with super glue. Dry fit in the engine cowling and they seem to work ok. I'm still waiting on the seat belts from Hannants might arrive in the post tomorrow.

Great work on the exhausts Vaughan and you camouflaged the spiral misalignment nicely. I didn't realize you were going to go that route on the exhausts so this suggestion is now a little late, though you can file it for the future. Get yourself a roll of aluminum foil tape (that's aluminium in English ) that looks like this:

Here in Canadder you can get this stuff at any hardware store or the "big box" home building centers. The tape is real metal but with an adhesive backing. It bends and folds with ease and sticks like sh!t to a blanket. I used this stuff to create the shiny oleos on gear struts and, closer to what you could have done, the spent cartridge chutes on my D-9 by simply wrapping the stuff around the square stubs I left in the plastic and shaping the ends square. No glue required:

Nice work Vaughan, and good tips and advice Andy. The 'ally' tape can be found at B&Q for around a Fiver Vaughan, or check with on-line suppliers, and you'll find various widths and long-length rolls at better prices.

Thanks for the info Andy yes it's too late as I have already glued them in situ but will definitely buy some and use in the future as it looks a lot easier to use.

A small update on the stacks, they have been sprayed with primer then black into the actual ports with a final mixed coat of OD, black and a drop of metallic rust.

Some really nice modelling Vaughan, the exhaust stack idea is brilliant they look just right tucked behind the cowling and a good recovery with the spinner spiral, as already said, they are a pain.

This the first time I've used foil , when I built the Arado(see pictures below) the exhaust outlets were too short on that occasion I was able to use very thin plastic card to get the same effect.
