I managed fit in some time today and finish off the wheel bay doors, they have had a wash and a flat coat and have been sprayed aluminium on the reverse side. I've also made a start on the turbocharger exhaust fairing as this is a separate part this has yet to be glued in situ. Squadron green putty has been applied to the fuselage sink marks and once dry will be sanded flush. The Tamiya tape is there to prevent loss of detail when sanding.

Hi Guys thanks for the comps. I need a bit of help as I have just put the flaps together and have chosen the deployed position. I'm doing an overall NMF and areas of the flaps are exposed what colour should they be ZCY or NMF? I did manage to find these reference photos one from Duxford and the other two from the squadron walk-arounds that Terry kindly sent me but still unsure what they should be.

Thanks Gary a really good reference site. It looks like the edges of the control flaps are YZC and the rest of the surfaces are NMF. Thanks again

There might be a slight revision on colours as have some more images. These don't have YZC on the edges of the flaps.

Thanks for that info Gary, it gets a bit confusing and difficult to find images of original P47's to know what is right. I know it's only a small detail but it's one that will be seen so you feel like it has to be accurate.

I think you might be right there Gary so will go with YZC ends have just spayed the flaps with primmer so might add the YZC later.

I think that is the right move, and BTW, AWESOME Work. Can you send me some shots of your F4f-4 or 3? for ref. I am building the old 1969 Revell F4f-4 you kmow the blue plastic one as practice before I attack my Trump 1/32 F4f-3 Late
