Oh, forgot to add that in an emergency, it can also slice bacon
Now that's going to be a little difficult to conceal under a jacket! One of the first weapons called an assault gun.
Larry I have done exhaustive research on the original blueprints of the Titanic and most people don't know about the secret tunnel systems and burial chambers deep within Titanics hull. In 1943 famed adventurer and researcher Dr Artemis Renfro discovered the secret blueprint scrolls of Thomas Andrews, designer of the RMS Titanic in the basement of a San Francisco clothing store just before it was bombed by the Nazi Luftwaffe on August 15. Barely making it out alive, Dr Renfro committed the blueprints onto 17 napkins from memory. (These napkins are now proudly on display at the Titanic museum in Belfast)
If you'd like to learn more, check out Dr. Artemis Renfros book, "The Slippery Nazi Anus" published in 1951.
Sean I didn't know that San Francisco was bombed by the Nazis
Larry Extensively..
Joseph Larry Really ?? San Francisco ?? I am not aware of a San Francisco in England !
Larry Yes, after Hitler perfected the V-1 "Buzz bomb" bombing England, he commissioned the V-2 rocket for the Californian front. It was a grave error on his part, committing armies to fight on 3 fronts, the Russian front, the English front and the Californian front. Just like the Japanese bombings of the Great Lakes..it was a true test of the Michigander fighting spirit.
Nigel I cant find any article on this?
Thomas Larry The Japs never bombed the Great Lakes, and Nazi Germany never bombed California or any other part of the USA. Er do you drink a lot?
Larry I have been told that i should actually drink more often..but the facts remain, we nearly lost California to Germany in April of 1944, If it hadn't been for the heroics of General Patton and the 8th armored division. The Japanese surrendered the Great Lakes on November 12th, 1945 after we dropped an Atomic bomb on Sault Saint Marie..get your history straight man, next you'll tell me the Viet Cong didn't occupy central park in 1969. Sheesh.
You know that the archived film footage of the Olympic in New York was passed off as the Titanic at the time and because of that, the names of the tugboats were edited out. He's pulling chains, but even then he has misidentified the designer of the Titanic. He is not alone in this. The ever unreliable Wikipedia gets its facts seriously tangled up on this. The man who designed the Olympic class liners was Alexander Carlisle who had been chief naval architect at Harland and Wolff since 1889. Thomas Andrews, often credited with the design, merely took over when Carlisle resigned in June 1910. At this time Olympic was plated and four months away from launch and Titanic was in frame. When Andrews took over both the design and most ongoing design decisions had been taken, the former years earlier.
I blame film for this. In this case not 'Hollywood history' as the culprit is the 1958 film 'A Night to Remember'. However many of the factual inaccuracies in that film carried over to the later 'Titanic'.
Cheers
Steve
Chris, Thank you for reopening that thread. It is difficult to stay apolitical with what has become an increasingly hot topic.
