Agreed, Fantastic find Paul, a great mystery. Mythbusters did an entire show on the skin comparing it to a thermite mixture. They did eventually get it to burn but only under special circomstances

Excellent pictures! That shot of it next to the Empire State is interesting because the very tip of the Empire State was originally intended to be an airship mooring mast, from where airship scheduled flights would take place.

Those disaster images are very captivating in a macarbe sort of way.
