JAS 39 Gripen is growing up....

I think we will see many more Grippin's and other weapons replacing American "equivalents" because the US is now being seen in many markets now as an unreliable supplier as a result of the on again off again supply of weapons to Ukraine and its supporters as well as the US selling weapons then refusing to allow the customer to use them in the manner the purchaser believes they should be.

Switzerland is also now seen as unreliable because of their vetos on supply and resale to Ukraine and it supporters.

This is the only reference I see:

I would take it with a fistful of salt at this stage.

Maybe Peru's MiG-29s and Mirage 2000s can go to Ukraine?

I don't think potential SAAB customers in the Americas or NATO need to worry about the Gripen's US-origin engine and potential White House vetoes. General Electric needs the business and would raise hell if POTUS declares that its engines cannot be licensed or sold to friendly states.

Well, Ukraine said it would buy more Patriot systems and could get funding for that (not from the US), So far, no public response from Washington. Let's see if Raytheon raises hell or bows its head.

they probably need multiple european countries as middleman - they buy them and forward them to Ukraine. Or they keep the new ones and send the older ones.

Going back a few days Trump said no because Ukraine started the war and should not have invaded a bigger nation.

How are my American neighbours so dumb to believe this gaslighting shite? 70% of you either voted Orange or didn't vote at all - this is on you.

Most Americans do not believe that Ukraine started the war - not even the people who voted for Trump. Most people who voted for Trump did so for other reasons (such as the immigration issues) or in effect voted anti-Democrat (mostly due to their social engineering agenda) and/or anti-mainstream Republican, in both of the latter cases because they feel that neither the Democratic party nor the mainstream Republic party are accomplishing what they (the voters) want.

Having said that, and in spite of the fact that I do not have any problem (personally) getting into political arguments, please stop making pointless political comments re the current administrations behavior or the political stances of the various factions in US politics. You will accomplish nothing re the political situation in the US (Trump will be president until Jan'29 regardless of anything you or others on the forum say - pro or con) and the only thing you may accomplish is getting this thread shut down.

This is more made up stories I suspect. There has been no comments on this from SAAB

Which major model manufacturer will step-up and produce a well-engineered, accurate model of the Gripen E/F? After all the 1:1 version has been in service since 2016. Now with other nations looking for alternatives to the F35, this has become a more significant subject. We really don't need anymore Mustangs, FW190s or 109s.
