Love the Waxwings. We have lots around our house here in Calgary. It takes a pic like that to see the beautiful colouring as they are surprisingly small I find.
 
Love the Waxwings. We have lots around our house here in Calgary. It takes a pic like that to see the beautiful colouring as they are surprisingly small I find.

This pic was taken on a very frosty January morning. There was a group of about 30-40 waxwings feeding on the berries and they pretty much ignored me. Got to within 15-18 feet and snapped away. The waxwing is fairly nomadic and like most males I know, they follow the food.

Beautiful shots, love those Waxwings, I had a few in my yard a few years ago but haven't seen them since.

Love that 100-400 lens, it is my favorite. Haven't tried it with wildlife yet, must do that.
