I think the real question would be how and who will determine if someone is expert enough to be called an expert. If we don't do that carefully we'll probably get in all kinds of trouble.

There was also the P-40 thread, though the P-39 thread did take the lead.

There is a difference between those that are authorative in their field and those that self-proclaim.

"Expert" may not be the right word. While there are no doubt some true experts here, the intent was more to identify "go to" people for certain subjects.

He was, however, a gentleman. He never posted maliciously despite much written abuse sent his way.

And he did have a lot of information, and brought much more from forum members. We learned that rapid repositioning of armor and British cockpit heaters was a non problem.
