I've been going over this forum and it's great, lots of great info. Maybe I overlooked it, but I need some question filled in on Luftwaffe camo patterns. I'm doing a Bf-110D and I can't tell if a hard line camo or a soft line camo is correct on the wings. I see some stuff that looks soft and a lot of stuff that looks hard. The fuselage I have done in a soft edge and I think that is correct. Any help would be great.
 
The basic camo scheme was the splinter pattern with straight and quite sharp edges of camo spots. But it could be possible the maintenance crew repainted the camo spots with an airbrush without using masks. Then these spots were of soft edges. The best way to know how the camo scheme looked like is to find a picture of a particular plane. Also profiles may help.
 
The splinter was 100% not masked, not even in the factory? I have Messerschmitt Augsburg factory documents that state that a soft edge overlap was expected between the segments of the splinter pattern.
 
Hi just wanted to ask the people here if Willi Reschke's Ta-152 Green 9 had a scheme of RLM 81/82/83 over 76? or was it just the greens? Also, alot of references show that the plane had a different colored engine cowling that seems to be of olive green-ish hue...were these planes known to have a replaced engine cowling and would it be possible that the color for this could be something like RLM 80? Thanks in advance, gents!
 
Agree with Wojtek. The engine section, often referred to as a "Power Egg" was built and painted as a complete assembly elsewhere, often resulting in a mismatched green/light blue demarcation
 
Hello friends!I need your help.I want to make a Bf109-K4.But i have a some problem.I dont have scheme of this plane like on this picture.And don't know what numbers RLM on this plane.Please help me.The plane is Ernest Dieter 8 Jg 53 April 1945.




May be you have another scheme of Bf109-K4 with numbers of RLM.

Did you perhaps mean Ernest Dieter Bernard, 14.03.45 Lt. and Adj of III./JG 53, shot down by P-47 and crashed near Oppenheim in Bf 109 K-4 (uninjured)?

According JaPo "Messerschmiit Bf 109K camouflage and markings" the lower surfaces were left unpainted. RLM76 was applied on the fuselage sides, on lower engine cover (part with oil cooler) and all section under horizontal stabiliser. Wings and fuselage bottom left in natural metal, with grey putty or paint traces around the glycol coolers. Ailerons undersurfaces primed with RLM76.
