An idiot, indeed. The absence of any kind of "reckless endangerment" charges makes me think that may have been part of some plea agreement; but his plane crashed 50-75 yards away from some homes. Such a willful disregard for other people....sad.

Considering his plane could have hit a few homes, this guy is a fool!

I'd say if he ran his business as good as he tried to fake his own death, it's no wonder he got caught!
    Thank god for stupid criminals.

Guess he faked his own intelligence before he faked his own death.

He should have just crashed it and never made contact with the airtower, it might have given him a better chance of not getting caught and ridiculed in the courtroom with every flaw of his plan... Anyways, idiot and a waste of a good plane if you ask me!

What an idiot! Certainly had no regards (or thought) of what might happen to the plane after he had jumped from it.

It's a shame he made it and the plane did not.

Bunch of that sort of stuff happened when the market crashed over the last few years. A lot of ponzi schemes collapsed and guys tried to disappear. All of them were caught, because, like TO said, they were faking their own intelligence before they faked their deaths.

Off to the pokey for this loser, with all the other ones.
