Very nicely done, a good Jug. But, why does everyone paint the gun tubes (they're not the barrels) gunmetal? They should be silvery steel.
Sorry, not being picky, it's a great model, and I know most kit instructions call out gunmetal or similar for the tubes, so it aint the modellers fault in most cases.

I'm with you, Catch. The Jug is brutally ugly. I like her, but not for beauty, but rather sheer purpose. This is even more evident with a sense of scale of the Jug's size.

Hi Jan. The '?' was quite often used in squadrons, normally when they had run out of letters of the alphabet, to avoid two aircraft with the same letter. The U.S.A.A.F. used adifferent system, where a bar - would be placed under the individual letter.
I heard of one case in a R.A.F. squadron where, when asked what code letter should be painted onto the C.O.'s aircraft, the answer was along the lines of "..I don't know!" whereupon a '?' was painted in place of the individual letter!!!

going back to the me 262 on page 49 i found this in Aircraft of the Luftwaffe Fighter Aces Vol. 2. A Chronicle in Photographs.
it say's it was fitted with a walter rocket for better climb and it is believed hienz bar claimed at least one of his kills in it

Thought I'd seen it before! If I can find it, in the pile of stuff that passes for cupboards and spare room, I should have a reference source, that's not on my library shelves, which describes the development of the '262. I'm sure it includes the 'RATO' machine. Otherwise, I'm fairly certain Erich will know!

This Me262 was named Me262C-1A Heimatschutzer I and was a machine for a mixing propulsion tests. The bird was equipped with Walter HWK 109-509A additional rocket engine. Its first flight took place on 27th February 1945.The altitude of 11500 metres was reached in 4.5 minute. The one machine was built only. Its Werk Nummer was 130186.
The next version Me262C-1b was powered with the mixing propulsion as well. But this time it consisted of two BMW 003R systems. Each system consisted of BMW 003A jet engine of thrust 7.8kN and BMW 718 rocket engine of thrust 12kN in 3 minutes. The rocket engine was unsafe and burst out easily. One plane was built only and two flights only took a place.
