It's always looked ungainly and a bit self-defeating to me, with that bl**dy huge barge bolted on its belly, but that's a very nice model !
H, I might be wrong, but I think some of those marks are small stencils, and also possibly paint chipping at the corners of the same panels on each wing.

Noticed that too but was too lazy to check my references. The second wire was dropped on the C-2 and all variants afterwards, I believe.
