Hello to all: My Dad was a B-17 pilot in 1944/45. I recently discovered a lot of missing paperwork and photos, and got me fired up to try and find out facts and ideas about this. Also, I have decided to take up a hobby which I took part in in my much younger years (I just turned 74)and that is building scale models. I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thank you all for letting me join your forum!!!

You've come to the right place. I'd suggest you do a search on threads started by Bill Runnels. He was on B-17s as well and posted lots of interesting facts and stories. As for models, don't be afraid to ask - abundance of friendly and sage advice here.
