73 years ago tomorrow night our pilot, copilot, navigator and I were part of that very large crowd gathered at Times Square (New York City} to celebrate the arrival of 1945. It was once in a life time experience. The excitement and roar of those present at midnight was astounding. 2018 is just around the corner so I extend to all a Happy New Year and best wishes for a prosperous and healthy one.

Thank you. I get a little sentimental on New Years eve thinking back to 1945 when our crew numbered four at Times Square and only two returned. They remain good friends in the chambers of my mind.

Like you it is also all that I have left of so many friends. My childhood friends Joe (Army) and Rick (Navy) are both gone and the rest are on the Wall.
I have more friends on the Wall than in life

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and days long gone by?

For the sake of old times, my dear,
for the sake of days gone by,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for the sake of days gone by.
