Hiroyasu Imura spent 19 years pursuing his boyhood dream of faithfully producing a replica of Himeji Castle in Hyogo Prefecture. The 69-year-old former insurance examiner completed his model of Himeji Castle at a scale of 1:23 in the garden of his home in Ise, Mie Prefecture, in April.

His wife, Ikuko, 66, gave him a book containing photographs of the castle on his 47th birthday. He saw a drawing of the castle in the book and made up his mind to build a replica.

Imura bought a plot of land in the town of Enza in Ise, which has a beautiful view of mountains unhindered by the sight of power lines -- a setting he thought would be perfect for the replica. He moved to the town and began building the model in 1989, using experience he gained as a joiner during his youth.

After retiring at age 60, Imura devoted his life to building the replica.

Now some for Lucky. Not exactly artistic but jaw-dropping all the same.

"The owner of the cars was a car dealer in the 1970s and 1980s, and decided to save the more interesting cars that came through his doors. When the barn was full, he padlocked and "soldered" the doors shut. (Perhaps welding was too permanent.) Web sites varied on the number of cars: 58, 100, and 180 were speculated. According to Morais, there are 180 cars in the barn."

Man. You read about stuff like that all the time. There was a guy here in Tacoma that recently died and he too stuffed away a few hundred cars that they now are turning into a museum. To bad that the "barn" apparently leaked and the dust has likely ruined many of those open topped cars.

I saw those pics awhile back, they found like 4 ferraris tons of maserati and stuff. some of the cars were thought to be the last in existence

Matt you live in Tacoma! My mom was there two times now for the sister city meetings and enjoyed it to some part.

Nice state you have there mate.

Any body got anything better to do with their money? The first pic is what 206 million dollars looks like. The next two were a bill that was used in a Kentucky Dairy Queen. SUCCESSFULLY. The purchase was for $2 and the cashier gave the guy $198 in change. On the front is a picture of George W Bush. One of the lawn signs on the back reads, "We like broccoli".

The others are Ms. Monroe, a dress made of money and a castle, along with some dollar bill oragami.
