Thanks Dave, Geo, Shinpachi and Hugh and Aaron. Aaron I have been reading and practicing a lot trying to get it down, still some or should I say a lot of stuff I still don't understand mostly dealing with lighting but the more I read and practice I'm kind of learning.

Here is a concept that I have been playing with it's called "The Jacks of Hearts", honestly what do you guys think, I can always go back to the drawing board and redo. The Jack of Hearts picture was printed on a 81/2 X 11 piece of paper with the heart cut out of the center, a red fabric placed under the card, added the Jacks. I used a Canon 430 EXII speedlite to kill the ambient light.

Interesting. The shadows around the jacks a little distracting, and it's just a little over exposed on the left side. Just my opinion. A light box may help. And there are free instructions on how to build them here on the forum if I'm not mistaken. I think Eric posted them in the Photography hints and help thread.

Thanks Aaron, good catch on the exp. and shadows, I'll fix that and Reshoot tomorrow :D

Thanks Shinpachi, I'm glad your daughter likes it.

Here is an update on the "Jacks of Hearts", I added a couple of shots of some Yellow Finches in my yard.

On the Jacks, I used two day-light lamps one left one right and a speedlite top, I couldn't use my Photo-Cube because I had to shoot from the top down and use a tripod, the tripod would not straddle the cube. Is this better? All suggestions are more than welcome, especialy on how to get my camera to the center of the cube. I put the lighyter Jack in on purpose to kind of add something to catch the eys.

Thanks Aaron, I kind of like the way it came out.

Just out of cureosity I looked up the Finch and they actually go by both names I guess it might be a California thing:lol:

Thanks Hugh.

I was out the other evening at Sunset and thought I could get some nice sunset shots after the rains, the clouds were still forming and the sun made for some nice colors. When I was taking the pictures of the Sunset a man and his wife approached me and asked if they could see my shots, I showed them my LCD screen. After a little conversation the man told me that he and his wife had purchased the property and were going through escrow and going to build their house there. He told me he would like to purchase all the pictures if it was OK. Wow, it was more than OK. I realized that I had made my first sale of my pictures, well one thing to check off my bucket list, the only thing that I wish is that the pictures would have been of a nice plane

Some of the shots.
