Ontos your wood burning gets better and better. I actually loved the delicate touch for the distant physical features. Very well done. Again reminds me of my wood burning kit when I was 6. Wish somebody had spent some time with me to show me technique. I burnt some wood. Smelled it. Looked at my burnt wood. Smelled it. And never went back. Too bad for me. You are inspiring.
 
Thanks Wayne, Hugh and Matt. Thanks Matt for your encouragement, I'm trying to take more time in making these burns. I also remember the old soldering type burner I had when I was a kid and doing the pre-printed pieces of wood that came with the set, I especially remember the old sailing ship piece. I would hate to see how it turned out.

Here are some shots of the SBD-5 Dauntless that flew at the Planes of Fame discussion . Can anyone tell me what the three rectangle holes are for near the leading edge of the lower wing ?

Thank you so much Vic and Eric, greatly appreciated.

I started to play with my in flight bird shots using some info from the web, I tried these with settings, Shutter speed 1/1000, ISO 400 and 800, center metering, f5.6. These Yellow Finches are hard to get, fast little buggers Next time I think I should try ISO of 200. Here are a couple that came out halfway decent.

Those look pretty good Merv. The ISO will do better in good light at 200. The shutter speed depending on light can go up more which will help the image sharpness. Remember the shots I took of the semis on the interstate. They were moving at 70mph but in the photos they looked like they were sitting still. Most were shot at 1/3200 of a second. The quicker shutter speed helps to stop motion. Hope this helps.
