Looking very good indeed John. Regarding the seat harness - do you know if RAF Mustangs had the British (Sutton late model) harness fitted, or if the American harness was retained? I haven't been able to find out, and forgot to ask the RAF Mustang pilots I knew. Some photos may suggest that the American harness was retained, but it's hard to tell.

Terry i had the same question too. As for the late sutton harness i know that they were used after the war (??) As for the the main question i asked at P51SIG and the guys there told me that Raf Mustangs were fitted with suton harness. I got the same answer from a British friend of mine. So i decided to use these ones. Hope i did right!!! really cant be sure!!!!

That's good enough for me John! Unfortunately, two of the (high-ranking, well known) RAF pilots I knew have passed on, and the third is elderly and couldn't quite remember, but thought they were British harnesses. This makes sense, as familiarity of equipment, ie British, would be a great advantage, especially in an emergency.

Good morning guys, thanks for your kind words, a little update...

Dry fit situation.....

Fuselage closed and secured with.... clothes pins

Engine cover on...

...and finally IFF and seat in position...

Clothes pins again and i left it aside to rest itself for a while.
Thanks for looking, hope you like it.
